The Water Resources Plan is part of the strategic planning carried out by the Company. The aim of the plan is to ensure that there will be adequate supplies of water to meet domestic and commercial requirements over the next 30 years.
The plan describes how this is to be achieved at best value for the customer, without damaging effects on the environment, or compromising security of supply.
The plans are constructed and written to meet the specification of the Environment Agency, and are revised and re-submitted to the Agency every 5 years. The Water Resource Plan is also a major component of the Company Strategic Business Plan. This is reviewed every five years by Ofwat, the water industry economic regulator. |
