Day one of the first pike fishing session of 2010 and it seems the fish are hungry! After the a prolonged cold spell since mid December the warmer temperatures seem to have encouraged teh fish to start feeding. Although the fishing wasn't easy plenty of anglers managed to catch a few fish and included amongst them were some crackers. best boat fish was the pictured 30.10 taken by rich Cooper. But the bank fishermen fared better with at least three big fish taken. Reports are of another 30.01, one of 31.04 and an incredible 40.04 taken in just a few feet of water. We are awaiting pictures of the forty which should be through very soon.
