Fishermen's Tale & Pictures
Story sent in by Mike Churn
Just a note to thank you and all the team for their help in making this another enjoyable fishing season for me. I fished pretty much early mornings from boats with a few early morning bank visits thrown in and nearly always managed to find a few feeding fish. A cleaned boat was always available. No pike damaged fish this year although I did take out a couple of jacks. However there were a number of cormorant damaged fish and I reckon I could do some serious damage to their population if you fitted my boat with a punt gun! However...might cause a bit of a stir with visitors to the lake and I’m not sure Nigel Milbourne would ever talk to me again!

My friend and I had a red letter day on Litton (9th October). We started on the top lake fishing Daddies and Spiders on floating lines no more than 3 or four feet down and fairly quickly got a tiny Brownie half way up the lake on the far bank. Later on that morning we drifted the top end of the lake and caught one nice reainbow about 2lbs and also hooked and lost a couple including one double hook up.

Story sent in by Martin Nock - from 2006
Although this article was written a couple of years ago it is still relevant today in most respects. Martin and his partner and two friends have been visiting Bristol Water fisheries, especially Blagdon, for many years.
